Dog owners must start out early with Puppy potty training. As soon as the puppy starts to move around comfortably, you should immediately start training your pet as the alternative of constantly cleaning the carpet of puppy “messes” can be quite frustrating for most of us.

2.Assign a Potty Place – Be consistent throughout the training of your dog. This means that you bring your dog on the same spot outside each time. Only spend a certain amount of time before going back inside. You can allow some playtime as soon as your dog has done its business.
3.Reward Your Pet for Every Success He Makes – Potty training is basically inducing the desired behavior by reinforcement. Whenever you give your pet a reward for his proper behavior and response, he would start to associate potty training to good things thus reinforcing that proper dog behavior. Once your pet dog is happy, means that he is learning fast.
4.Utilize a Leash – The leash is a very important tool for the puppy potty training. It is important that you keep a close watch over your dog while doing the potty training. You can tie the leash to your waist so that you have the puppy near you at all times.
5.Sustained Practice – Following the common and repeated adage – “Practice makes perfect”, you gain success in the potty training of your puppy when your do regular and sustained practice. You should regularly and without fail follow your dog outside right after every feeding and every times he gets out of the crate.
6.Don’t Use Paper – Using paper material during potty training will only reinforce the behavior as it is impressed upon your pet that it is OK to potty inside the house.
7.Anticipate Possible Accidents – Accidents are going to occur while doing puppy training. It is important that you are ready to deal with them. You should be able to prepare by having some important puppy cleaning tools ready for any eventualities. These include paper towels, enzymatic cleaners and odor neutralizers.
